Hello Allen Key Club!

I’m Kaitlyn Wilson and it is an honor to be your new Texas-Oklahoma District Governor! I can’t wait to meet all of you! This year we will be incredible, because we will be serving others by working side by side. My main goals are:

 

  • Unite the K-Family

  • Update the District Website

  • Serve our Communities

  • Increase our Membership, and

  • Visit every region.

  •  

The 2014-2015 Governors Project is to assist the Children’s Miracle Network. I encourage all of the clubs to get involved with this amazing organization. I have been a Key Club Sponsor for 5 years.  I have enjoyed watching this club grow and serve.  We have a board that works very hard to plan and organize great events for the members.  I am excited about this school year and the service events that are planned.  We have a great time serving and socializing.

Hey Allen Key Clubbers!

 

Most of you may not know who I am, especially since I do not go to Allen High School, but I am your new Lieutenant Governor. For those of you that aren't aware, a Lieutenant Governor (or LTG for short) oversees and works for the schools in their division. Allen High school is apart of Division 2 North along with 11 other schools including Plano West, Plano East, Plano Sr., Shepton, John Paul II, McKinney North, McKinney Boyd, McKinney High, Frisco Heritage, Frisco Liberty, and Lovejoy. It is my Job as an LTG to make sure everything is running smoothly and correctly among the clubs, to update them on district information, and most importantly I am here to help all of you! I am so excited to start a new year with Allen's Key Club and please do not hesitate to contact me with any comments or questions! I have been teaching for fourteen years, and in that time, I have been blessed with diverse teaching (and learning) experiences, from the college classroom to inner-city dropout recovery and almost everything in between. I currently teach AP Literature and Composition. I love learning, and since formally completing my graduate degree in 2005, I have embraced numerous opportunities for post-graduate study.  A few highlights of this quest for knowledge and self-actualization include studying Faulkner and his contemporaries in Oxford, Mississippi and Shakespeare and the Renaissance in Oxford, England.  I still aspire, one day, to earn a doctoral degree.  I am a first generation college graduate, and teaching is a second career for me. I choose to teach because teachers helped me open doors that I had not even envisioned.  I am also passionate about service and believe we all have gifts the world needs, so I am  thrilled to work with the fabulous, service-minded students of Key Club.
